PCB ASSEMBLY FIXTURES

Stencil-Express builds custom fixtures for your electronic PCB assembly needs.

Types of fixtures include:

  • SMT fixtures / reflow fixtures,
  • Wave solder fixtures,
  • Selective solder fixtures,
  • Inspection fixtures,
  • Custom fixtures

All are manufactured is done by our milling department in our state-of-the-art facility in Surrey BC Canada (Made in Canada).   We use composite materials with features including:

  • Electro-Static-Discharge (ESD) material,

  • Excellent durability against repetitive soldering of more than 10,000 times.
  • High Heat resistance,
  • Excellent chemical resistance against soluble flux or pallet cleaner,
  • Excellent mechanical strength for precision machining,
  • Lead free material

SMT FIXTURES / REFLOW FIXTURES

SMT Carriers (fixtures/pallets) are used to hold the PCB through some or all the steps of the SMT Assembly Processes.

SMT Carriers help support PCB’s of any shape and size.

Examples uses include:

  • Support Rigid and Flex boards,
  • Shapes that are hard to hold big and small,
  • PCB layouts that make handling the board a challenge such as components too close to the edge of the PCB,
  • Hold parts such as connectors in place during reflow,
  • Hold possibly multiple boards,

  • Help stencil printing accuracy and repeatability.

WAVE SOLDER FIXTURES

ave solder pallets are used to expose plated-through-hole (PTH) components and protect/shield other components such as SMT components during the wave soldering process.  The fixture is configured to mask out areas of the PCB that require thermal and or solder protection.

Wave solder pallets can be configured with a top hat to hold down components, including holding PTH components in place as required.

Tailored to match specific PCB layouts and manufacturing requirements.  These pallets are typically made from high temperature resistant materials and can be customized for various applications.

SELECTIVE SOLDERING PALLET

Selective solder pallets are similar to wave solder pallets, but whereas the selective solder machine has a miniature wave that can be programmed to solder one through-hole component at the time.

INSPECTION & COMPONENT HOLD FIXTURES

Inspection fixtures are used for any specific inspection and testing needs; one example to stabilize the PCB to prevent movement during the X-Ray process.  Below is an example of an Acyrlic CNC fixture to hold through hole components in place to allow for easy hand soldering applicaitons.

CUSTOM FIXTURES

Beyond any typical fixtures, Stencil-Express can design and build your custom fixture needs as well.  Contact us and we can help you solve your custom requirements.
